D-Link Debuts Standalone Network Video Recorder for SMBs
February 21, 2013"With difficult economic conditions continuing in many areas, small business owners face an increasing need to minimize losses from shrinkage and protect themselves in disputes, all without adding any unnecessary costs or complexity. The DNR-2060-08P makes it simple to keep a detailed surveillance record. The streamlined setup out-of-the-box and the convenient remote management capabilities mean practically anyone can use it to safeguard their business," said Harrison Albert, Regional Director at D-Link Middle East & Africa.
The DNR-2060-08P works with up to eight cameras, so business owners can maximize video coverage of sensitive areas like cash registers or storage facilities. Cameras connect over a standard local network such as commonly found in commercial buildings. The DNR-2060-08P also supplies power over Ethernet (PoE); compatible cameras can use the same line for power and data. As a result cameras can be placed in more locations, even some distance away from power sockets. Internally, the DNR-2060-08P supports up to six standard SATA hard drives, so extra storage capacity can be added painlessly. Software configuration is done directly on the DNR-2060-08P itself, with the aid of a USB keyboard and mouse. An external HDMI or VGA monitor is used to display live and recorded footage. No additional computer is necessary.
Once up and running, the DNR-2060-08P is a full-featured surveillance solution. It offers simultaneous live view and playback of recorded footage for maximum flexibility. If connected to the Internet via a wired or wireless router, the DNR-2060-08P can be configured and managed remotely with the free JustConnect mobile app, available on the App Store and Google Play. Users can view any of their connected cameras in real time from a compatible iPhone, iPad, or Android™ device for 24/7 peace of mind, wherever they happen to be.
